Farmer Pokes Crocodile With A Stick To Get Her Eggs. Moments Later, He Regret His Decision
As unfortunate as it was, a farmer probably got what was coming to him after he poked a crocodile with a stick.
I think we can all agree, crocodiles are creatures that are best left at a safe distance. They have very large jaws, and are known for pouncing very quickly on their prey. So all in all, not something you should poke with a stick.
One farmer didn’t seem to have this thought process. The reptile was on Crocodile Creek in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, when the unfortunate events took place.
The large swap creature seemed to be already in defense mode when the owner of the farm, Peter Watson, approached. She had her mouth open, probably baring her sharp teeth. A stern warning to the people who plans to invade her territory.
The farmer tries to move the mother away from her eggs. Not dissuaded by the pointy teeth, the farmer stepped closer to the wild reptile. He attempts stay out of its eye line by walking around the side of the crocodile.
However, the mother crocodile obviously aware of the farmer’s movements. The reptile gave a warning by aggressively throwing her head towards him.
Despite these many red flags, the man continued his mission, and poked the crocodile with a large stick, no doubt agitating her.
The large creature then went in for the pounce surprising the 73-year-old man. The creature move so fast that the farmer never had the chance to react.
He lost his balance as the crocodile closed in and grabbed his foot, and the man fell to the floor in a terrifying display.
The person behind the camera stopped filming, hopefully going to the man’s aid and helping him escape the angry reptile.
As a farmer on a place called Crocodile Creek, Peter sure has a valid reason for trying to move the mother away from her eggs, but I feel like I need to express a warning – if you ever come across a crocodile, don’t try to poke it with a stick. They have very big teeth and are not afraid to use them.
Thankfully, Peter only received some nasty bite marks on his foot. But hopefully he has learned his lesson.
